“Take the first step in faith.
You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step”
– Dr Martin Luther King, Jr.
School has begun for this year. We’re well into our summer days. The long daylight hours continue to allow us the outdoor lifestyle and pursuits we love, with opportunities for family picnics and get-togethers on the beach and in backyards at weekends.
I admit there have been the odd, almost unbearable hot days, but that didn’t last before the stormy rain set in, which lasted a few days. Not only it was relief, but it also brought a few cold days. A welcoming respite for many. As for me, I welcome and embrace the warm rays of refreshing sunshine and bright palette of summer colours, for before too long, autumn will be upon us.
What a great start to the year for The Colour Closet! Being relatively new into market as well as an on-line business, we seize opportunities where we can, to pitch pop-ups. The Colour Closet held a stall at the Wellington Pasifika Festival on Saturday, 20 January 2018. There we met a diverse group of many friendly and interesting people from all walks of life, countries, and ethnic groups. We received a lot of positive feedbacks on our wares and many sales, both of which were encouraging and supportive. Currently we cater for women’s wear and, interestingly enough, we fielded enquiries and interest from men to do shirts and shorts. Now that’s ‘food for thought’, so ….Watch this Space!
As I write this, the team has just returned from the Martinborough Fair, where we had a stall last Saturday. It was a fun and successful day, and we learned much from this exercise. We are also holding a stall at the Waitangi Day Festival at Porirua, on Tuesday, 6 February. So if you plan on attending, do come by our stall as we’d love to meet you!
Until the next time, be kind to one another.
P.S. The posted photos were taken from our pop-up stalls in January and early February.
