September 2018

Already September, my goodness! Just three months till the end of the year… For those of us in the southern hemisphere or Down Under, spring is just around the corner.  But here in Wellington, we have not had a reprieve from wild, wet weather since the first day of September.

Has there been a “spring” in your footsteps the past few days?  Well, I can say I’ve literally dragged my feet in the mud!  And now, I’m nursing a cold! But this “time out” has also had its benefits, allowing me to reflect on many things.

As my thoughts have flitted everywhere, I concluded that “checking in” with oneself or with a higher being, every so often, is a healthy thing to do.  For me it means an opportunity to refocus on what my intentions, purposes, or objectives were in the first place.

I’ll leave you with this quote by Robert A Ward.

“I wish you the courage to be warm when the world
would prefer that you be cool. I wish you success sufficient to your needs;
I wish you failure to temper that success. I wish you joy in all your days;
I wish you sadness so that you may better measure joy.
I wish you gladness to overbalance grief. I wish you humor and a twinkle in the eye.
I wish you glory and the strength to bear its burdens.
I wish you sunshine on your path and storms to season your journey.
I wish you peace in the world in which you live and
in the smallest corner of your heart where truth is kept.
I wish you faith to help define your living and your life.
More I cannot wish you except perhaps love to make all the rest worthwhile.”
