December 2018

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is love.

1 Corinthians 13: 13

December 2018 – A year in operation for The Colour Closet!!! What a year. We acknowledge our shared days of highs and lows, successes and losses. However, those events taught us valuable lessons, built on the network of support and friendships, and we look forward to exciting times ahead. I pay tribute to each of you and say, Noa‘ia ‘e hanisi, Thank you, for sharing this journey with us!

And now here we are, the last month of the year, the Christmas and holiday season. I like this time of the year the best of all! People are more accommodating and sociable. Celebrations and parties of different kinds happening. If I were to choose one month in the annual calendar to award it Love, this is it! December the winner, hands down!

Christmas is a very special time for many Christians as the 25th is observed and celebrated as the birthday of our Lord. The spirit and message of love ought to be celebrated and shared in every way. Inclusiveness should be characterised by love, respect and trust. In our world today love is needed most.

I share with the words of Edwin Markham (1852-1940):

“He drew a circle that shut me out-
Heretic, rebel, a thing to flout.
But love and I had the wit to win:
We drew a circle and took him In!”
(from The Shoes of Happiness and Other Poems, 1913)

Have a very merry Christmas!
